Haviland Limoges France Celery Dish GDA |
|
For your consideration is this lovely Gerard, Dufraisseix & Abbot made, Charles Field Haviland decorated porcelain celery dish. It was produced in Limoges, France ca. 1900-1941. The delicate decoration consists of petite roses that surround the inside rim and the center with brushed gilt accents on the ruffled edge. It is in very good vintage condition, the only flaws are a tiny scratch to the outside under rim (not noticeable unless examined very carefully), some brown residue on the foot rim, left after the dish was cleaned and of course some small manufacturing flaws which are to be expected in vintage pieces: gilt flecks and two spots to the front under glaze (see photographs). This fantastic vintage celery dish would compliment any of the Limoges rose patterned porcelain pieces and is collectible and useful.
Approximate measurements: 13"L by 5 7/8"W.
