Vintage Majolica Ceramic Art Pottery Pig Piggy Bank  

Description:  You are viewing a handsome vintage ceramic pig piggy bank with a Majolica glaze.  The colors are a lovely olive green with rust highlights.  He is decorated with embossed flowers on both sides.  The coin slot looks as though it were hand cut, it is a little uneven and he has no hole to remove coins, so this was the type that you would fill and then break to get the money out.  He has three stilt marks to his belly.  A cute little curly tail and an adorable face, he appears to be smiling. There is no mark.  This would be a wonderful addition to a Majolica or piggy bank collection, a great display piece for a mantle or shelf.

Condition: Very Good Condition, no chips or cracks, just a few minute scratches to the glaze.  On the bottom of one foot there is a minute area (1/16th") where the glaze did not cover the ceramic.

Approximate measurements: 5 1/2"L by 4" H.
