Adorable Victorian Sandwich Tray & Tea Cup Roses |
|
This is a very elegant shell shaped Victorian sandwich tray with teacup. It is decorated with lovely transfer ware red roses, green leaves and buds on a scalloped edged tray (which measures 7 1/2"). The teacup has a bouquet of roses on the front, back and inside, the bottom rim is scalloped edged also. Both the tray and cup are trimmed with gold. These types of trays were popular in the late 1800's and early 1900's for serving finger sandwiches at tea parties. This piece is not marked. The condition is very good, no chips or cracks. There are a few imperfections and minute scratches to the tray, the top edge of the cup feels ruff, but is not chipped. These are sold separately, but seven other of these lovely Victorian pieces are available at the moment, if interested in a set. |
