| This is a most intriguing cider or cream pitcher. This is a Victorian style piece, because of the design: applied handle, bubbles in the glass, divot in the bottom, along with the spatter or drip overlay technique, which was common from the late 19th century to early 20th century. This Victorian Style Ruby Glass Spatter pitcher is an exquisite example of quality workmanship. The Ruby color is sensational and the white contrasts it well. The pitchers handle was made separately and applied; the length of it is reeded and it ends in a lovely shell at the base. The color starts at the bottom center and spreads out to the edges. This beautiful pitcher stands approximately 5 1/2" tall. It is in excellent condition, no chips or cracks. If you don’t collect Ruby glass this would be a lovely piece to start with; if you do this one would be an elegant addition to your others. |
