| Lovely Vintage Zell German Majolica Plaque Plate |

| This lovely vintage Majolica plaque plate was produced in Germany at the Zell factory in Badenia; Georg Schneider was the potter. Zell is a well known and highly respected brand of German Majolica. The detail is amazing, on this piece of art pottery you can see the individual logs in the log pile and even tools proped up against the wall of the house. Majolica was produced at this factory from 1890 - 1920's. The mark indicates that this piece is c.1907-1928. It measures 9 ¼ “across. There are a few manufacturing flaws: a smooth chip to the foot rim (it is glazed over) and some darker specs under the glaze in the sky area. No chips or cracks since the manufacturing flaws. 3 stilt marks to the rear ( insides are dark). It has two holes for hanging. The bottom reads: 2556 and the Zell GS Baden Mark ( impressed). This is a truly lovely and very detailed vintage (almost antique) decorative collectible that would grace any home. |
