Copeland Spode Rose Briar Plate c. 1920 England |
|
You are viewing a beautiful vintage dinner plate that was imported from England. This lovely plate has scalloped edges with a basket weave border surrounding a lovely ring of various colored roses and foliage: red, purple, yellow and green. Produced by Copeland Spode in England, the pattern is Rose Briar. The design is transfer ware with hand painting. The red mark on the bottom reads: COPELAND/SPODE/ ENGLAND/ROSE BRIAR. Embossed into the bottom of the plate is Copeland/Spode/Imp/Rd No 80067. This pattern was registered in England in 1887, the mark indicates c. 1920, so I believe it was produced somewhere in between those two dates. This is a great vintage collectible that would be useful as a serving dish or candle plate. I have several other items up for auction in the same pattern, please take a look!! Bid on them all for a nice vintage set.
Dimensions: Approximately:9" W
Condition: Very Good, this is a wonderful example of early twentieth century English tableware. No chips or cracks, just a few knife scratches and some crazing, which is to be expected in vintage pieces. Please view my photographs carefully and if you have any questions please e-mail before bidding .
This is a unique item that is beautiful, collectible and useful. |
