Copeland Spode Rose Briar Saucer c. 1920 England |
|
You are viewing a beautiful vintage saucer (alone) that was imported from England. This lovely little saucer has scalloped edges with a basket weave border surrounding a lovely ring of various colored roses and foliage: red, purple, yellow and green. Produced by Copeland Spode in England, the pattern is Rose Briar. The design is transfer ware with hand painting. The red mark on the bottom reads: COPELAND/SPODE/ ENGLAND/ROSE BRIAR. This pattern was registered in England in 1887, the mark indicates c. 1920, so I believe it was produced somewhere in between those two dates. This is a great vintage collectible that would be useful as a pin dish or candle plate. It would be exceptionally useful if you have a cup that matches it. I have several other items up for auction in the same pattern, please take a look!! Bid on them all for a nice vintage set.
Dimensions: Approximately: 5 " W
Condition: Very Good, this is a wonderful example of early twentieth century English tableware. No chips or cracks, some crazing, which is to be expected in vintage pieces. Please view my photographs carefully and if you have any questions please e-mail before bidding .
This is a unique item that is beautiful, collectible and useful. |
