| Impressive Old Gerz Stein (W. Germany) |

| This is an impressive sized Gerz stein from West Germany. It is cobalt blue and gray in color and the design is three-dimensional. The handle is a tree branch and the lid is metal of some sort, possibly pewter?. There are some men and a lady in the forest drinking ale. There is a banner that reads: DERTRUNK SEIKLAR / DEINLIEB SEIRAR. It has the number 1806 beneath the handle. The mark on the bottom reads: Gerz/W. Germany. The dimensions are: 11 1/4" H, 3 1/4" diameter of the top rim, approximately 4 1/2" diameter of bottom. The condition is very good, no cracks and only one minute chip on the bottom rim, which does not show unless you turn it over and examine it closely. There seems to be some discoloration on the inside of the lid (see picture). This stein would be great for display and use. |
