A "Manhattan" Horizontal Ribbed Lrg. Glass Bowl Anchor Hocking |
|
This is a lovely & large vintage Manhattan "Horizontal Ribbed" crystal color glass bowl with open handles. It has two seams and applied handles. This fantastic bowl was produced by the Anchor Hocking Glass Company of Lancaster, OH ca. 1938-1943. The glass was originally designed to mirror the Manhattan sky line since sky scrapers were a new and fascinating subject in that era. This is a great collectible and useful bowl. It would be perfect for fruit or vegetable salads, chips or fresh fruit. The small berry bowl in the first photograph which is sold separately would be nice for putting dip to go with your chips. Be an original, this fantastic vintage item with a modern look will compliment any interior, why not yours?
Approximate measurements: 12"L by 91/4"W, 4 3/4" H.
It is in very good vintage condition, the only flaws are tiny chips all around the top rim. Manufacturing flaw: There is a tiny round glass piece that is sticking out from the outer foot rim.
