Description: You
are viewing a very unique Milk Glass chop plate. The plate has a
beautiful scalloped edge with a Greek Key border, in the center is a
fantastic scene of Chrysanthemums and leaves. It has a short
pedestal. This looks like the Imperial Glass NUART Chrysanthemum chop plate but is not marked. It has the ribbed back with a smooth center area with no mark. It has three seams. Research suggests that some of the early NUART Chrysanthemum Chop plates where not marked. All of the early ones had ribbed backs. If you visit the following website, you will see the same design chop plate, unmarked in carnival glass: http://www.ddoty.com/chrysanimp.html
If this is the NUART, it is rare. The great thing about milk glass is that you can mix and match easily. This
beautiful chop plate would be great for display and use.
Dimensions: Approximately:
10 1/4 " diameter, pedestal is 1 1/3"H
Condition: Very Good, no chips or cracks, just a few scratches to the surface with red coloring and some dark in the crease along the Greek key border. There is also some clouding to the back.
This is a wonderfully unique and useful chop
plate, it could be used as a cake plate for entertaining.
