You are viewing a
handsome vintage pipe holder that is made of metal, I believe that it could be
cast iron or brass. It has a tray with three feet to place the pipe, and a
bowl for ashes that sits on top. The metal tray portion has been painted
old gold color with black on the back (bottom), the bowl is some type of very
light weight dark colored wood, it is attached with a screw. The dish was
designed in the Rococo style. It is a wonderful decorative and useful
piece of art. If you are not a pipe smoker this beautiful dish could be
used in an office for paper clips and rubber bands or in a powder room for pins,
hair ties or q-tips. If you would like a unique vintage decorative and
useful item, this will be a great addition to your home or office.
Condition:
The condition is good,
some scratches to the inside of the bowl, it has been repainted and the brass
ring that is between the dish and the bowl is very crinkled. It looks like
it was damaged when it was removed and replaced. These flaws do not
detract from this great vintage item though.
