Antique Wedgwood Maltese Blue & White Transfer Ware Bowl England

Description: You are viewing a wonderful antique blue and white transfer ware bowl that was produced by Wedgwood & Co. ( Tunstall, Staffordshire, England) between 1862 and 1890.  This lovely soup or vegetable bowl is in the "Maltese" pattern. A lovely border of blue flowers and vines, with five single roses venturing into the bowl with a lovely center medallion.  This is a great antique bowl for display on a table as a centerpiece or on a mantle.  Serve chips, nuts, candies etc... or impress your guests by using this item in the powder room: place soaps or guest towels in it for your company.  Add English charm to your home with this wonderful antique.

Wedgwood History: Established in 1759 by Josiah Wedgwood  in Tunstall, England the Staffordshire region.  Makers of exceptional decorative and tableware items over the years and still in business at this date.

Dimensions:  Approximately: 8 3/4 " L

Condition: Good, well used antique, some flaws: chip to under-rim of bowl (approx. 1/4").  This shows from the bottom, but not from the top, although you can feel it if you run your finger along the edge.  All over crazing, some small knife knicks to center of bowl.  Gold marks and some small blue ink spots to the back side of bowl, none on the front. A portion of one of the five roses on the front is faded out.  This still a beautiful antique English bowl to cherish for years to come (see pictures).

This would be a charming antique item to use and display.
