A "Manhattan" Horizontal Ribbed Berry Bowl Anchor Hocking Glass |
|
This is a lovely vintage Manhattan "Horizontal Ribbed" crystal color glass bowl with handles. It has two seams and applied handles. This fantastic bowl was produced by the Anchor Hocking Glass Company of Lancaster, OH ca. 1938-1943. The glass was originally designed to mirror the Manhattan sky line since sky scrapers were a new and fascinating subject in that era. This is a great collectible and useful bowl. It would be perfect for dip, pretzels, nuts or jewelry. The large open handled bowl in the first photograph which is sold separately would be nice for putting chips to go with your dip or nuts.
Approximate measurements: 6 1/4"L by 4 1/2"W,1 3/4" H.
It is in very good vintage condition, the only flaws are tiny group of chips near the handle (4th ring down) and one inside the rim that can be felt by running a finger across it.
